MDCR: Mini Digital Cassette Recorder demo

Post by roland » Sun Oct 12, 2014 11:22 am

Hi all,

About a year ago I received a MDCR drive for the Atom. Today I got it working. You can watch a small demo at http://youtu.be/8VxT1gGw3KY

The (Dutch) documentation is at http://www.acornatom.nl/atom_nieuws/198 ... 852049.htm.

Although it is fun to see it still working after 25 years, I really prefer the AtoMMC

Greetings,

3rd time lucky Roland! =D>

Glad you got it working 8) , great to see things still working after 25+ years stores in a box.

Not like new trash of today, sure they make things last for 6 years max, so cheaper to replace the whole lot [-(

Get those heads cleaned, might work first go next time... The green light!

Cheers, Col.

Well, the problem was not the heads. I didn't even clean them. The 64p cable between the Atom and the MDCR was wrong. After exchanging it with a known good floppy cable, the MDCR started to work.

Now I can make tape backups of my MMC card
