Atom RAM

Post by flynnjs » Fri Jan 14, 2011 11:49 am

Hi all, does anyone have any tips on buying 2114s?

I'm aware that the 2114L has lower dissapation and would be
preferred for a fully loaded board but are there any brands that
have compatibility issues with a regular Atom?

I've found Intel, Toshiba, OKI, NatSemi types so far.

Finally, is there anyone in the UK that has a stash and
might part with some for a reasonable sum?

2114L is generally best for low power consumption. But this is even better :

There was a dump of these on Ebay a while ago (about 15 Euros for 24 pieces), but they've disappeared.

How many are you looking for? I've got some - I'll be able to get into the room where they are later today to see if they're 'L' or not but I think they are. I won't want to part with too many though.

It's also fairly trivial to make up a converter board to convert a 6264, 8Kx8 to work inplace of the 12x2114s with the added benifit that you gain an extra 2K of ram (all of the $8000-$9FFF is filled).

Cheers.

Phill.

Just been and confirmed that I have TMM314APL-1 which are 2114L2.

Not sure I'd desperately want to be flogging 12 though, that's quite a lot.

Indeed. I've got a whole board to populate :-(

There's some MCM2114P45 on e-bay from .nl but only 5pcs left.

I think I'm going to have to splash out on from the USA.

you can get them from cricklewood electronics but at 4 quid each they're rather steep!
