Atom Speed test

Post by Prime » Tue Aug 14, 2018 10:44 am

Hi all,

Is there an Atom speed test program that doesn't rely on the presence of the 6522?

I have a little something I need to benchmark.....

Cheers.

Phill.

I think that counting flybacks is quite difficult because the flyback does not generate an interrupt. So the program must self keep track of the flyback state. And it is not very accurate.

However, I don’t have a better solution...

If it is very small, could you wait for vsync, run the test and count cycles until the next vsync?

Or if it is just hw, count cycles between vsyncs.

If your program is just counting flybacks, it should be accurate.
