Setting up ICET for 6502 debug.

Post by Prime » Sun Nov 05, 2017 10:32 pm

Hi all,

I have a couple of the XC3S500 Godil boards one of which I'd like to use as a 6502 ICE as it might help with this damn apple interface I'm trying to get working. The problem is I have the version of the board with the 2x50 way female connectors on the bottom of the board. How should I go about connecting this up to a DIP header to allow me to usee this? I can make my own boards if needed or would I be able to knock something up on stripboard / Tripad?

This is the one I have : ... n-IDC?c=97

I assume you have rejected trying to desolder the 2x50 pin headers and add the DIL header directly?

You'll need to look carefully at sections 6 and 7 of the GODIL manual:

These show the connections between the 50 pin headers and the DIL pins.

Make sure you work with the bracketed DIL pin numbers, as they are for the 40 pin DIL version.

A (possibly simpler) alternative to ICE-T would be the 6502 protocol analyzer for Sigrok. See here: ... 2&p=182743
