Hi guys,

Multiwizard tipped me about an Acorn Atom with diskdrive and hardware on Marktplaats.

https://www.marktplaats.nl/a/computers- ... e=lr&pos=1

After looking at the photo's of the hardware, I noticed a rare board which I have never seen before.
According to the seller, it's a 80 column board.
It's build with a 8227 and 8228 but I can't find any documentation about these chips.

Greetings
Kees

Those are the date codes.

The 40 pin chips are:
- Signetics SCN2672 Programmable Video Timing Controller
- Signetics SCN2673 Video Attributes Controller

The 28 pin chip is:
- SIgnetics SCN2670B Display Character and Graphics Generator

Ok, thanks Dave,

I also found this Elektor article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elektor_TV_Games_Computer
This explains a lot because the Elektor magazine was very popular in Holland in the 80's.
A lot of the Elektor PCB's could be used for other systems, eg the Atom.

Greetings
Kees

Here's the original PDF of the TV Games Computer from Elektor April 1979:

There any now very many issues of Elektor on archive.org:

Looks like built / designed by a former Philips employee.
Pricing is not funny anymore :-(
Still have a bunch of 2650 Processors lying around here NOS.

I'm not sure I'd want to let a dog near stuff that's both rare and static-sensitive!

Once mounted on a board the chips are not that sensitive anymore and think the Signetics chips are even NMOS.
