That top image looks like the same serial number sticker I've got in my original Beeb from '83. Mine's an Astec AFAIK...

One other bit of information - my electron which has the product code 02-ALA01 has a label inside which says "Made in Hong Kong". The 02-ALA01 electrons don't have this.

I believe 02 is Wong Electronics. 01 is probably Astec.

@jms2: my Beeb is 3935 down the line from yours! The serial number sticker has fallen off and been reattached, no doubt the same has happened with your sticker.

I'd be interested to see the date stamp on the motherboard if you ever lift the WE ROM board.

I've got:
03ANB01 3054325. Date stamp: 11 MAY 1984, B.548 DI
I have previously observed:
03ANB01 3066404. Date stamp: 2 JUL 1984, B.574 nS

Interestingly the dates are 52 days apart, but the B. numbers differ by 26. If a "B." occurs every two days then B.1 would have happened on 13 May 1981... B.100 was due on 27 November that year, still very early. (courtesy of timeanddate.com)

However if the B number is incremented once per day then B.100 would fall on 18 February 1983, about a month after the date on the Issue 7 diagram, although we are now clearly grasping at straws!

Identical orange stickers on the motherboard and the underside say ICL SERIAL No 005416.

I recently picked up a B+ 128k system, after 20 minutes of playing about the PSU did the crackling smokey thing, so I've picked up a couple of X2s to sort this out. Hello! I'm a new member as of today!

I'm looking to refurb my Dad's old BBC to get it going again. It's an (early?) Issue 3 BBC B, with an ICL serial no:

ICL 007957

PSU (unfortunately dead) is dated 82-08.
It still has a BASIC A ROM (with the 1981 Copyright). I think it had an OS ROM upgrade at some point.
