I got this laptop the other week too, from the same junk shop. I'll boost the RAM and have another old reliable for web work, a bit of music making and allsorts.

well been bad and spent money again - got myself an Apple IIe - European model with the 80 column and disk controller cards fitted plus a Disk II floppy drive. Bit grubby and yellowed, but apart from one scratch the case is in good condition - everything inside looks untouched, very dusty and dirty so needs a good cleaning.
Apple_IIe_pic.jpg
Good points - powers up (though I suspect the RIFA cap is not going to last, heard a crack from the PSU so think it is about to blow) - gives the Apple ][ message on screen and can be forced to boot BASIC (responds to keyboard in BASIC as well).

Bad points - Booting to diags give the message 'RAM: F13 F12 F11 F10 F9 F8 F7 F6' and halts there so it thinks something is wrong with the RAM - also no response at all from the floppy drive on power up, no LED and no motor so either the drive is bad or the controller.

Unfortunately, never owned an 8-bit Apple machine before so have a complete lack of knowledge about them - always fancied one back in the 80s but never got one until now

Great thing! I've done a bit of poking around in them, as has Prime, so do start another thread in the other computers group :D

Palm Tungsten E. With charger, cover and stylus. Picked up at a car boot sale.

Me: how much for this?
Seller: £1? I don’t know what it is
Me: says nothing, hands over £1 and leaves

Battery is knackered but for £1 it was worth saving

My mate told me he still has my Palm V I sold him bitd and I can have it back. Then my dad told me I could have his Palm M100.

Seems I have become a Palm collector

That's spooky! I came across my Tungsten yesterday, while searching for something else! If anyone does collect this type of machine (?) I have that and another, different, palm given to me by my brother (details later if any interest is shown).

That post is from 2012? Mark H. is killing off the data centre in favour of Gotek. But he is more active these days on Facebook group than here.

I suppose I could say "rediscovered" recently . . .

I have these:
IMG_3278.jpg
£10 to cover P&P and the rest going in the Project fund!

And this - which was fully working when powered-up last year - I guess these are a bit special as they are known to fail early in life. In fact my first one, from Dixons, was replaced under warranty. I did find, on the net, a driver to allow this to be plugged into the PCMCIA socket of my Sony laptop - so it may still be around somewhere. I have the User Guide and, probably, the software (CD?) and a few of the small sheets of note paper that came with the package.

Found one on eBay (US) without the Manual etc. Whether it will sell for the $61 ???

Sensible offerers for this one, please - all funds for new projects 8)

I’m interested in the Tungsten but the Axim is windows PDA and not my kinda thing. How much would you want for the Tungsten and it’s dock? I can grab it off you on Saturday at Wakefield to save you posting it :D

Axim, I haven't seen a power-brick for the Tungsten - but that may be due to manufacturers not 'branding' their PSUs :? I'll see what I have that 'may' be correct- if there ever was one?

I don’t know to be honest. My Tungsten E has one but that doesn’t support the dock. It may be the dock just charges from USB. way to tell would be to see if there’s a jack socket on the dock, I guess.
