Kind of. It confirms that my suspicions about it not being for a Beeb are right if your mappings are correct... but as I originally said, it has a 20-way plug on it already so I'm not sure what machine it's wired up for...

As I see your picture my tracker ball connector to my Master 512 is indeed wired differently then your pic... :o

But I also got a mouse which was connected to my Master 512 which has exactly the same wiring as you pic... :-k

That's interesting, I assume your mouse is an "AMX" type? If so I guess this tracker ball is wired to work with the ROMs that support the AMX mouse.

Are you using your tracker ball with GEM? If so I guess that the GEM mouse driver checks different pins on the user port than the AMX mouse and therein lies the difference.

I guess the next question is, how is the Domesday version of the Tracker ball wired up? AMX Mouse style or Master 512 Tracker ball style?

I have an AMX mouse that works with the AMX ROM and with GEM on the Master 512 equally.

Unfortunately, the search barely ever returns the things I want. I know for a fact the indexes are faulty too as there are posts in the system that never get returned in the search that should.

The indexes have been broken ever since the system went down and was restored. You can search for stuff prior to 2015, and for stuff after the site was restored but the posts in between never seem to be in the search index. As far as we could tell, at the time, about 1 whole year of posts are not indexed. Both I and MartinB have reported this before just after the site was restored but nothing seemed to get done about it at the time. I'd link to the thread so I could point you in the right direction regarding exactly when Martin and I posted about the issue but I can't find it using the search even though I know the thread to be in the forum somewhere, thereby proving my point :(

Searching using the phrase you suggest for me returns just one post... yours :(

Whoops! I did not mean the search to be literally the whole text string that I posted

Anyway, I don't know if these links (found with a quick search) are helpful or not...
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8286&start=90#p91707
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4202
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=8852&p=104433&hili ... ns#p104433

Somewhere, I'm sure I've seen a table comparing two sets of Beeb mouse connections...

And the search function was improved a while ago. Since then it has been less troublesome for me.
Posts about the search function from 2015-ish to 2016-ish

You could always use a google search with a site specifier. Try this:

BBC MIcro mouse site:star dot.org.uk

Anyway, back on topic, today I received an increment to my age.

Never mind bubble wrap. Once when we ran out of packaging for an important item we used about seven loo rolls

Then wrapped in about three newspapers. And finally a cardboard box absolutely covered in "fragile" tape....

Nope. The mega games cartridge doesn't work on a Master either.
