Adventures for your BBC Micro (Book)

Post by b_b_c_m_i_c_r_o_2 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 1:28 pm

This post. reminded me that this book contained a number of adventures:

Attached is trouble in paradise.

I would be interested to know if anyone has tried Arkham, Innsmouth, and beyond.

I played through all the games from this book last year when we OCRed the listings.
Of the six games, Arkham was my favourite.

BTW, the PDF and disc image with all the games on can be found here.

Thats cool - I didn't realised you had the games archived now! I have just started looking at the others now from the link you sent. I typed in the trouble in paradise way back in 2006 and never got round to the others.

If you click the link in my signature you will see I have that book :)

But not sure where it is. I need to record where I stored each book!

So not sure when I would get around to scanning it etc.

Ah! Is that it?
We have the author as Ian Watt, not Tim Hartnell...
Is that correct?
I am out so can't check at the mo...

The entry for that page says:
In this ADVENTURE program written by Ian Watt, you start outside the crypt
I will update the entry with the intro text from the book.

Ah sorry I misunderstood, I thought the question was about the books authors. Not the individual programs author.

ok - here is something you might not have....it might be on the boundary of what is an adventure?

This is from the Usbourne book called "COMPUTER HORROR & SPY GAMES" (1984)

Book written by Jenny Tyler & Chris Oxlade

Yep, got that :D
If you go to bbcmicro.co.uk and type "text adventure" into the search box you will see all the ones in the archive

I suspect that will start getting boring quite quickly. I might do some.

Can we have the other games from that book on the website? I can upload a disc image later.
