When I've located my disk or tape image, why do I have to navigate all the way back to pick a new game from the same folder?
How do I stop that? Vice doesn't make me. It's really getting on my nerves.

Re: Beeb-Em directory to stay where I left it?
I know what you mean. On mine it defaults to the root Beeb Em folder in My Documents every time I go to select a disc. I don't use it much so it isn't really a problem for me.
Have you checked out what you can put in the config file? There may be an option you can set / enable. Or it could be the case that it just doesn't cache the last used location - not all Windows (or Mac, I'm an equal opportunity user) programs do. If this is the case it will always go back to the default location.

I can't actually see anything. I've dragged a few things into Notepad but see no paths.
Sometimes when I've downloaded a few things or am testing things out prior to feeding into a real Beeb, reloading can be a fiddly pain when there are folders and folders to flit between but only here and there.

Am on Win10, and it remembers where I last was...
Or right click on .SSD /.DSD and choose 'open with' and find BeebEm414. Then when you double click on a SSD or DSD (or .UEF/CSW),
it boots up

There's a save preferences menu somewhere which should sort you out I think.

There is a save preference but you have to set a preference. And none I see cover directories.
But I like CMcDougall's advice on coming at it the other direction. That's nice and it works a treat, even with the emulator already on.
I never thought of that because to drag and drop doesn't work. I thought it was all the same.
Thanks.

On version 3.82 (the one I use) under Options->Preference Options there is an option "Save Disc/Tape/State Folders".Commie_User wrote:There is a save preference but you have to set a preference. And none I see cover directories.

Oh, that's what it is. Must have not worked.
Well it's going now, thanks.
I've got 4.14.
