MAME: Tape wav images

I see the electron emulator also allows you to load tape wav files as a cassette but when you try to load it it sees no data, is this not yet implemented in the MAME Electron or is there another reason for it?

I believe all computers in MAME support WAV, all formats UEF, TAP, CSW, etc. are converted internally to WAV before being fed to the machine.

There may be limitations though, which I'm not sure is machine specific or a general MAME thing. Can you post (link to) your WAV and I'll see what the issue may be?

That does seems odd. I don't have an explanation right now, but will look into it.

bump LOL

just had a go at this as well (mame0195b_64bit.exe, win10), even got the Atom to work 8)

I can see all the tapes I have done (Tangled etc) and Kees (Galaforce etc) games too, but....
where do I get the image packs :? ie for the pictures.

Which folder do I put all my .CSW .UEFhq .WAV files :?: , so I can run them, put them in the ROMS folder, but said can't find.

not played with this MAME /MESS for 20years, after my director bought a CD off eBay and I got it to work.
it was easy to use, just double clicked any game, and off it went :)

I think mame only works with uef ( hq uef) wav and disc images which have to have to correct name and are normally stored in the ROM folder, uef it i think only supports the normal uef's not the high quality its not been updated to that as yet, you can also start up say the BBC emulator, chose start empty then press scroll lock and then tab to get into the menu and load them from there under File Manager cassette or floppydisk1, exit out and then press scroll lock and you should then be able to run whatever image you have loaded.

Edit:- a couple of things to keep in mind the BBC disc system is fine as long as you use read only be very careful if you turn on write as there is a bug and it messes the disc catalog up, don't think it's been fixed as yet, and the electron emulator does not see tape data from wav files, uef works fine.

I wasn't aware of that, something else I need to look at I guess. I also want to de-couple the colour board so you can have the option of original B&W or colour.
