Wow - Great additions to the archive - these have been missing for years!
Thanks for posting.
I think the only other missing Chalksoft title is now 'Yes Chancellor'.

Hi,
Just going through some stuff and come across NOTE INVADERS and PUNCMAN 3 & 4 from Chalksoft. Are these still needed?

Also, in the same box, I have found SPANISH TUTOR LEVEL A and SPANISH TUTOR LEVEL B from KOSMOS. GERMAN MASTER LEVEL B from KOSMOS, HELPING HANDS 1, 2, and 3 from ASLETT SCHOLEY and MUSIC from SCOTSOFT

Are any of these needed? if so I can send to good old Col McD :D

Just found this pic and thought I'd upload it here -- it'll do till some proper documentation or instructions come along for Pirate by Chalksoft:

That is a nice find. =D>

Do the key card and package have a flip side that you could photo and post, please? [-o< I can then add these to my archive.

Hi, John. Er, I did say that it was only the pic itself that I'd found! :(

Sorry to resurrect this thread after four years, but Puncman 3 & 4 is, indeed, still needed, as I could not find it in the tape-images section of STH when I was reminded of it earlier this week (from 1994 to 1997, my family were given a loan of a school surplus BBC Master 128, which came with a lot of educational games on 5.25" discs, and that must have been one of them, as I remember it having the text "Press SPACE when volume is correct" next to an increasing and decreasing number in a box when you started, which Puncman 1 & 2 does not). The Sinclair ZX Spectrum version of it is also, according to World of Spectrum, missing in action, and there were later Archimedes and Windows 95 versions of both games which must now be lost to time (along with Puncman 5-7, as nobody has mentioned that on here), so an SSD of it would be another welcome addition to the archive for me.

In theory Puncman 3&4 is in my archive waiting to be uploaded to the website. The documentation is missing in any case. I'll see if I can see to it this weekend.

Puncman 1&2 and Puncman 3&4 have been added to my archive. There is a Puncman 5, 6 & 7 out there somewhere. Does anyone have a copy. [-o<

The museum in Cambridge has one, I believe.

Thank you! I also remember some of the other packages on that site from my childhood with Acorn computers, including Infant and First Schools I and II (my primary school also had all the programs in I, with the exception of Puzzle Farm, on their Archimedes), Early Learning (featuring Billy Bulldozer), Micro Primer, and Granville (which features a cameo from Namco's Pac-Man, at Le Borsalino Pizzeria).

The Centre for Computing History, if that is what you are meaning by "the museum in Cambridge", also does indeed have a 5.25" of Puncman 5-7: http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/ ... man-5-6-7/, and the artwork on the cover implies that it takes place in an old, abandoned mine.

Hi folks,

My father was a school teacher and introduced my brother and I to Chalksoft's Pirate on the BBC Master (which was by then dated tech but still popular in schools).

I googled around seeking the game and to my astonishment found it easily (much gratitude to those keeping such things alive)...

It was quite a nostalgic experience going through it again redolent with childhood memories. Amazingly I remembered rather a lot of the map of the sea (we played without a map for quite some time until Dad found one for Part 1)....

Anyway as I can only find the part 2 map online and I was keen to help I played through it again to confirm my memory of where the various Islands are and created an extremely rough and ready version in the hope it helps someone. The picture of the Part 2 Map is easy enough to locate via google images (and is on the cover you can see linked on this thread.

Hope it helps someone else relive some fond memories.

PS - please forgive the rookie job of the map ;-) created it quickly whilst playing through and am hardly a graphic artist!

A good find! \:D/

Probably time for John to add the manual to his archive:

Just for a bit of fun, here's a "port" of Pirate - both parts - to Windows (it barely qualifies as a port, it's almost the original BASIC code, using Brandy as an execution engine).
