The Micro User Education Special Volume 2

Post by pau1ie » Tue Dec 19, 2017 12:56 pm

I believe this is a MIA educational title that I got from ebay.
DSCN2329.JPG
Cassette and Inlay
There is no text on the other side of the cassette or inlay.

Given the hassle I have had creating a UEF, I thought I would do a disc image instead. Filenames have had to be truncated - the correct filenames are on photo of the cassette case, with the addition of HEADER, which is the first file on the tape.

Code: Select all

header
funfactor
windmill
angler
spelldrd
tortal
discover
punctuate
dataintro
databse
chinatake
What is the thing with line 6 of header? Is it just trying to resist listing the program? Or is there some purpose?

I haven't looked at it or tried running anything yet, I wanted to upload it so I have an off premise backup!

Line 4? It's code, referenced at

Code: Select all

1 START=PAGE+&31
39 CALL START
also causes the LISTing to freeze up, but fine if LIST 5,

Thanks. It is obvious now, but I think I would have been staring at it for hours before I worked that out!

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?

There's always the option of an ADFS disc image.

That is a pain to do though. This way I used ADT to copy to the datacentre, then export the SSD and upload. To get it on to an ADFS image, I would either have to write to a physical disc and use omniflop, and I don't currently have a computer that will run it, or else use the above SSD to create an ADFS image in an emulator.

They all seem to work until I got to dataintro. I'm not sure what the matter with that is, but I am using a BBC Master and a datacentre, so there could be all manner of things!
