Hi All,

Just re-posted Disc 037 in Section 3 due to finding original Beebug mag instructions for Pitfall Pete.
Also...
re-posted...
Disc 044 in Section 4 due to finding TMU info for Monster Maze and Beebug info for The Manhole Game and also full inlay instructions for Spheroids at the same time.
Disc 046 in Section 4 due to finding full inlay info for Alien From Outer Space.
Disc 049 in Section 4 due to finding full inlay info for Winter Wonderland and also TMU info for Pipeline! and TDU info for Orcrest.
Lastly,
Disc 071 in Section 5 due to finding TMU info for Alien Invasion and Witch Hunt.

I will re-post a few more after I have been through more mag images.
Note that some games were only issued via a tape or disc and not listed in the mag so no instructions seem to be available unless they came with the tapes/discs.

regards,
Mick.

Hi All,
Thanks very much to Lee for sending me scans of A&B Mags. As a result, I have now been able to add instructions to all the games they published that did not have instructions.
The only exceptions were Teletext Invaders and Space Hawk which did not have anything additional printed in the mag with the listings.
One last thing, Gimpo was written on an Electron, according to the mag and a BBC fix was included to stop flicker and slow the game down. I have adjusted the slow down a bit more to make the game run on a BBC at the same speed as it does on an Electron.

So...
Re-posted D028 in Section 3 with Gimpo including fix and extra info.
Also D038 with info for Rondaxians and D041 with info for Ghosts.

Re-posted D047 in Section 4 with info for Olsen, D051 with info for Q-Man, D057 with info for F-111B and D059 with info for Grandprix.

Lastly, re-posted D077 in section 5 with info for Space Chaser. This game also now has its correct keys making it a bit harder to play I think.

That's it with A&B and thanks again to Lee for making this possible.

regards,
Mick.

Created in November 2019... here is Games Disc 140.
Disc140.zip
(52.08 KiB) Downloaded 15 times
The disc is called Disc140.dsd so it can be loaded into a Datacentre on a real BBC without having to rename it.

The 18 games on this disc include...

Jog from What Micro.
Attack from Take off with the Electron and BBC Micro.
Solitaire (E) from The Electron User (1.10).
Sheepdog Trial from 21 Games For The BBC.
April Fool Island from Popular Computing Weekly.
Energy Fields from Pan Books Ltd.
Dice Poker by R. P. S. Price.
Builder from What Micro.
Storm from Big K Magazine (Issue 6).
Yahtzee! (2P) from The Micro User (7.03).
Milly The Mink from Which Micro? & Software Review.
Night-Raid from Personal Computing Today.
The Frog from HeLixSoft.
Simon (AKA Sensational Simon) from Practical Computing (7.02).
Barrage (2P) from The Giant Book Of Games.
Dam Eaters from Pan Books Ltd.
Foxhole from What Micro.
Radar from Personal Computer World.

EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... This only works with Yahtzee!

All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.

Regards,
Mick.

Disc 141 will be out in early December with some more Christmas Crackers!

Hi All,

Just re-posted the following discs.

Discs 066 and 081 in Section 5 due to finding TMU mag info for Car Race and Easter Maze.
Also, Disc080 due to correcting a fault with International Megasports originally caused when adding the instructions.

Disc090 in Section 6 due to finding TMU mag info for Bomber Strike and Beebug info for Aliens.
Also, Disc097 thanks to Bill C for fixing the problem with Fantasia Diamond.

Discs 111 and 112 in Section 10 due to finding TMU mag info for Survive!, Trio and Doomrun.
NOTE: I have now been able to include extra code from the mag and created the correct version of Survive! which can be 1 or 2 players instead of just the one player game we had before.

Hi All,
Just re-posted the following discs due to the wrong versions of titles from Arcade Action somehow getting mixed with earlier versions from Fun Games.

All the Fun Games version have now been moved to ALTD012 which will be posted once complete, and I only have 1 space left, so that should not be too far away.

All games from Arcade Action are now featured correctly on the main discs and have the correct "Arcade Action" splash from Acornsoft in their loaders from the original tape version.

Disc004 in Section 1 is the V5 version of Snake with the "food" and not the "letters" as in V4 from Fun Games.

Disc019 in Section 3 is the version of Dodgems with "Score:" on the screen which is missing from V1 in Fun Games.

Disc022 in Section 3 now has the correct REM Teletext Space Invaders in its loader.

Disc023 in Section 3 is the V2 version of Breakout and has the 8 "options" instead of the "Large or Small Bat" in Fun Games.

This should now have sorted the issue with these games and Lee has updated the website to match.

Again, Thanks to Arcadian for spotting the mistakes.

Mick.

Not anymore!

Just re-posted D098 with a now correctly working copy of Lords Of Time.
Not sure how or why my old version was broken, but data from the STH disc hack has now been copied over it and now works as per Walk Through.

Thanks for finding the fault.

Mick.

Hi All,

Just re-posted D140 above. This is due to Lee finding an error with the Micro User instructions for Yahtzee, On page 3 should be "exceeds 62" not "65" as printed.
Thanks again to Lee for spotting it.

Hi All,
Just re-posted D072 in Section 5.
This is due to it being found that the version of Push The Bale I used from 8-Bit Software had a faulty joystick routine that did not work correctly.
There was, however, a none joystick version issued in Jan 1993 by The Micro User that works fine.
Maybe they couldn't it to work prperly, so removed the lines from the game???
Their version had several spelling mistakes which I have corrected and now copied onto my disc.

Thanks again to Lee and everyone who spots errors.
Just glad to be able to sort them.
And this time it wasn't something I did!

Hi All,
Just re-posted the following discs due to adding instructions from The Micro User and Beebug mags.

D122 and D123 in Section 14 adding info to Quarters and Cribbage.

D127 and D129 in Section 16 adding info to Solitaire/Solve and also tidying up Artillery Duel and Higher/Lower.

D130 and D131 in Section 17 adding info to Patience and 10 Minute Game.

As far as I know, these are the last of the instructions I have been able to get from the mags.
Some more of the games in these mags were not listed in the mag, but issued on the tape/disc and no or little info about them is printed.
Some other games may have instructions but the Micro User scans are currently not available to check. They too, may be only tape/disc copies with no info, but won't know for sure until they turn up.

I will go through all my discs again soon and check for missing Micro User instructions and then put a request out for the missing mags.

regards,
Mick.

As mentioned before, I have now added all Beebug and Micro User instructions to their games where they were needed.
There are a few exception with The Micro User/Acorn Computing where scans of the magazines do not exist on the net.
It may even be that the games still missing instruction may have been tape/disc extras with the issue and no instructions exist as was the case with some of the games I have already checked.
However, below is a list of the games and issues that I would like to check and include instruction for it possible.

Blocbusta 9.04
Klect 10.12
Power Raider 10.7
Connect four/Make Four 9.01
Time Lapsed 10.05
Snake & Snake 2 both 10.07
Battleships 10.06
and Knight Game/Knight's Journey 12.13?

thanks for any help with these.
Mick.
