Robico Software's Midge (The Message Compression System)

The disk was 80 track, but contained nothing on the later half. *CAT was disabled with VDU codes in the disk title
Only small booklet was included, so easy to scan :D

Thanks for this; I reverse engineered the system a while back, but to actually see the generating code allows me to double check a lot of things!

Many thanks to Bill Carr for stumping up the necessaries to make this available to us. It will be interesting to learn how one of the top adventure producing software houses handled text compression. I soon discovered writing my own game that the text occupies a huge proportion of the total memory required. I'll most likely be discussing how I'm getting on with my own text compression techniques in the Programming\Assembly Language Text Adventure thread.
