NEED JOY STICK

Post by drfloyd »

So difficult to play without Stick on my Master 128

And the official sticks are very rare... on EBay i need to spend40-50£ + shipping to France !!!!!!!!!

Is this a solution :

I have some ATARI stick (like Speedking)

will it be compatible ?

They look like they should be OK and are cheaper than mine ;)
There are some that won't fit with an RGB cable on a Master, but that looks narrow enough, you could ask before buying.

It's because the RGB connector on the Master is very close to the Analogue (joystick) connector, closer than on the Model B. If there is a big box at the end of the joystick, it may block the RGB connector.

That one looks fine, but I do know that there is one that doesn't fit, but I don't know which one!

It'll probably be OK and it does say compatible with master, so you could probably ask for a refund if it isn't.

is these joysticks good ? As they are sold "not tested" I hesitate :

Good for Elite perhaps ? But for arcade games ? it is better to buy an adapter Atari ?

Thanks

I have a pair of those but don't really like them. They are okay for Elite (as you suggest) but I prefer the Voltmace ones.

For arcade games, I use the BBC version of the Competition Pro or Zipstick.

If it's any use to you, I have a spare Voltmace. I was only using it the other day when I got my BeeB back from RetroClinic.

If you're interested, I'll plug into the back on my Master 128 to see if it fits OK without clashing with the RGB socket.
