b+ and Gotek problems

Post by shakesc » Fri May 01, 2020 6:52 pm

Hello

have a B+ and a gotek. The gotek has been working but havent had it that long (lockdown project).
Updated with rotary controller and OLED

It now seems to have stopped working. Do a break and *. and it just hangs (using usb that previously worked)

DFS 2.22
Flashfloppy 2.14
Smart SPI

Tried usual unplug, reflashing the gotek, different usb and same result
Checked voltage at gotek - all good

Any thoughts on what else I could check (only have a multi meter , no scope)?

Remove SmartSPI for starters. What happens then? And what's the OLED displaying?

May seem a daft question, did you push the knob in after selecting a disk?, as it needs to mount the drive. I had the the same issue, works if you push in the button....

Unlikely, but is your FF.CFG correct?

So I popped the Smart SPI rom out and card reader - it was working with them before

The display shows the correct ssd file and the track indicator (or ejected)

I hadnt been using a ff.cfg

I found this on this viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15411&start=30

interface= ibmpc
host=acorn
index-suppression=no

I will try in a bit

I did notice that the green LED is not lit at anytime
Wonder if the gotek could be doggy...

Check that the cable is OK first. Then you really need another drive to check it against. Check you've not knocked off the drive number jumper? Assuming you're using a straight through cable it should be set to 0?

Checked I'm on zero, thats ok and its a straight through cable
I've ordered another cable as I dont have another drive to check against

If only there was an SPI interface that does r/w
