Master 128 Sideways RAM options

Post by videofx » Tue Apr 28, 2020 3:59 pm

Just got a Master 128 and I read the manual but I can't find anything about ROMS and Sideways RAM.

Does the 128 come with Sideways RAM?

Is there anything that explains for sideways RAM/ROM for the Master 128?

Are there any options for adding Sideways RAM and ROMS to the Master?

The Master comes with 64K of sideways RAM, split into 4x16K banks.

If you run *ROMS, the sideways RAM occupies banks 4-7. It will show as "?" when there is nothing loaded into it.

(banks 0-3 are the cartridge slots, and 8 is a ROM socket).

There are some other ROM sockets on the board, which if populated, disable the sideways RAM and use those slots.

ROM 0,1,2,3 are the two cartridge slots

When fitted in the West position, this link causes 16Kbyte of RAM to appear in each of the "sideways" memory "slots" 6 and 7.
When fitted in the East position, a 32Kbyte ROM occupying slots 6 and 7 may be plugged into socket labelled 1C41.

LK19 plug, made West: Paged ROM/RAM Select.
Two position link.
When fitted in the West position, this link causes 16Kbyte of RAM to appear in each of the "sideways" memory "slots" 4 and 5.
When fitted in the East position, a 32Kbyte ROM occupying slots 4 and 5 may be plugged into socket labelled IC37.

Thanks for the quick replies!

As soon as I get my power supply back I will try *ROMS and see what I have.

Is the one site that all the ROMs available for download?

Thanks!
