How can I save my Elite game on a Turbo MMC card?
I just can't for the life of me figure out how to save a game to the SD Card from Elite on a Turbo MMC system.
Please help!!
Please help!!
Re: How can I save my Elite game on a Turbo MMC card?
A couple of items to consider here:-
1) Is the version of Elite the disk version, or the tape version transferred to disk? If it is the tape version m(unmodified) you'll not be able to save to disk. I have this problem with Elite for the Electron. Would be nice to have a version to save games to disk.
2) If the disk has been shrunk then there'll be no space for saving games.
Might be an idea to upload the disk so people can check it.

Re: How can I save my Elite game on a Turbo MMC card?
Thanks I have just figured it out and it works.
I need to load the Elite disc into Drive 0 using:
*DIN 0 310
Then assign my save disc (410) to Drive 2 with:
*DIN 2 410
This saves the files and lets me load etc. The problem I have now is I cannot find a stable version of Elite that will run on my Master 128. They either crash at the start or when I dock on another station the upper part of the screen is black. I can sometimes get the star charts to show but the rest is all black screens. Anyone know why this is or might have a version of Elite that works with the Master 128 (Without co processor) ? Thanks.

What do you get if you type:TheArduinoGuy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 3:15 pmThe problem I have now is I cannot find a stable version of Elite that will run on my Master 128. Code: Select all
PRINT ~PAGE
If it's not, then you are probably using a file system ROM that's not specifically designed for the Master, and thus raises PAGE.

In which case can anyone help me obtain a Master 128 specific TurboSPI ROM that has page at &E00 please? Thanks.

You could try MMFS.TheArduinoGuy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 7:55 pmIn which case can anyone help me obtain a Master 128 specific TurboSPI ROM that has page at &E00 please? Thanks.
The latest release package is here:
https://github.com/hoglet67/MMFS/releases
For the Master with a Turbo MMC connected to the normal user port, use the following version:
T/MAMMFS

MMFS is what you need.
Either U/MAMMFS or T/MAMMFS from the mmfs zip file.

Re: How can I save my Elite game on a Turbo MMC card?
Thanks but this will need to be burnt on a ROM won't it?
Re: How can I save my Elite game on a Turbo MMC card?
Or loaded into one of the sideways RAM banks that ELITE doesn't use on the Master. I think it uses 6 & 7, so, get that file onto a disk image, mount it on the turbommc, *SRLOAD MAMMFS 8000 4, hit CTRL break, type *ROMS, type *UNPLUG the original turbommc rom (using the number from *ROMS, probably 8?) CTRL-BREAK again, and you should have MMFS available as a filing system?

There is a disc image in the release package, called:
T/mmfs.ssd
This contains the MAMMFS file you need.

I have carried out your instructions as above. I drag and dropped the .sdd file onto an empty disk image on the BEEB.MMB file (Disc 284)
I then go to that disc using *DIN284 and I can see the files.
Carried out your instructions exactly but ROMS 0 - 7 seem empty. See attached image.

Can you post a photo of the inside of your Master?
It's possible that some of the sideways RAM slots have been disabled (by LK18 and LK19).
Make sure these are both in the WEST position.
See the description of LK18/19 here:

That was it. Both of those were on the east side and so sideways ram was disabled.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You were running a Master 64 instead of a Master 128!
Glad you're back on track
