Master underside port clips

Post by archie456 » Sat Oct 19, 2019 6:13 pm

Hi,

Not too sure what they're called, but my Master is missing one of the hinged connecter clips which are present on all of the connecters on the underside of the computer.

These are the two little clip thingies which hinge together to hold the plug in:

Can these be replaced - if so where can I get them from? Can they be replaced without having to replace the whole socket?

Thanks,

They are IDC male pcb headers with latches. The latches can be replaced without removing the whole header by easing the header apart as you slot the new latch into the holes. However, it can be difficult to do without breaking the socket if the plastic has become brittle over time.

Also, finding latches that are the same style and colour might be difficult

It's worth contacting Mark at RetroClinic, suppling the photo. He's provided me with a latch in the past.
