LCD/Modern Display for BBC Master

Post by thearttrooper » Mon Sep 23, 2019 9:44 pm

Can anyone recommend an LCD/modern display that works well with a BBC Master? I have a composite RGB => SCART cable but read that not all displays are compatible. Suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

The Elephas SCART to HDMI converter has been recommended by a few as it does proper RGB conversion :

I get the feeling you get what you pay for with these converters, there's quite a few on the market at sub £15 now, but very variable reviews. Seems you need to keep an eye on them supporting RGB input for best quality (as WrightStuff mentioned), plus also watch out for latency in the conversion.
I dont know how impartial or accurate this site is, but these devices seem to be the ones that are most prevalent at the moment:

I have a 'HANNS-G HU196D' and a 'PROline' LCD monitor, both work fine with my Beebs and Masters. The thing to look for is a SCART connector. I also have a Daewoo DE but something's wrong with it.

I've got a few of these (Sony KDL-15G2000) on my machines and they are great, good picture, RGB Scart and reliable.. Obviously not as authentic as a CRT but you don't get the troubles that tend to come with an ageing CRT either.. Turn up cheap on eBay quite often 📺

There's also a newer model that pops up now and again (KLV-15SR3U), it looks more modern but I don't find the picture as good as the older model..

You need something which will de-interlace properly, so as the chaps above say something with Scart input is likely to work well.
