Several sources.

Sprow or Retro Clinic, build yourself, and some people build (Simon opensource version, the retro clinic version is this i seem to remember) and put on ebay.

Have a look at the hardware list for more details. Link in my signature below.

One more question - how difficult is it to get the speech chip and ROM? Are they being sold somewhere? If anybody has one to sell, please contact me.
Well done in repairing the beeb.

Mark from Retroclinic usually has Speech kits - either with real chips or more recently with Simon Inns' modern replica of the speech phrase ROM. Find Mark through his website or he is on the Acorn Users Facebook group too.

Or stick a post in the wanted forum. :)

I have the Sprow one, which has been about along time before Simon created his open source version.

And it just sounds like the original, because same ROM and TMS chip?

To wrap this thread up - this one now also got the speech synthesizer upgrade, the ZIF socket, the TurboMMC at the user port, and a Gotek floppy. Very happy with it! Thanks all again for helping me bringing it back to life! =D>
