BeebSCSI mini power

Post by cmorley » Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:30 pm

All the ports on my dev B except the printer port are occupied at the moment so no pin to put the +5v on for my BeebSCSI mini... bummer. Then looking at the machine I saw PL14 - the keyboard ROM connector... ooo it has +5v on! So I ran a "dupont" wire back inside through the gap between the user port and case & onto PL14. Hey presto BeebSCSI power.

The PL14 pins are a bit fatter than a normal 0.1" header but brute force got it on. Score one for the flimsy chinese female receptacle. It is probably a one shot deal putting it on but it is ideal for my dev beeb. Definitely better than looping round to 5v on the Tube (especially when I have things plugged into the Tube!)

Finally got round to installing my BeebSCSI mini. Using PL14 for power works great, thanks for the suggestion!
