CUB Monitor Repair

Post by luke83g »

Hello - I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could have my CUB monitor repaired.

I suspect a faulty capacitor from my very basic research - although I need an expert to both diagnose the fault and repair if possible.

I am in the North West of England, Lancashire.

I would appreciate any help or guidance with finding someone who could repair this for me. Many thanks Luke

is the issue that the psu is not starting up and its just dead ?

a very long time ago i was repairing some pub quiz machines that had microvitec monitor chassis all dead displays no startup

i found they all had the same stock fault which was a resistor that had cooked over time, it kicked started some current into the psu to get things oscillating

replacing the resistor fixed the issue on them all

I dont know if this information helps ?

a section of a micro vitec psu

r6 in this schematic supplies the initial voltage (smoothed by c16) to kick start the switching regulator and once started the chips powers is generated from the switching transformer and d7

im not sure if this matches your monitor but maybe this manual will help ?
