Try to find soft for presentations and dictinaries

Post by sashapont » Sun Jul 05, 2020 4:00 pm

Is it possible now to find and download presentation software like powerpoint to Riscos?
And maybe anybody save Ergane or other dictionary for Riscos?

There is OHP available from CJE

http://www.cjemicros.co.uk/micros/indiv ... =SPA-OHP25

It is like PowerPoint in that it is presentation software and does a similar job, but I don't believe there is any direct compatability if that's what you're looking for.

Ergane is I believe a multilingual translation dictionary for Windows. I don't think there is anything like that for RISC OS

The presentation software is good, but expensive :)

Didn't know about the RISC OS port of Ergane. Glad you managed to find it.

Amazingly I discovered I actually have a copy of it - told you I never throw anything away ! :)

I no longer have an Iyonix to test it on.But it's quite an old app, so probaly not 32 bit safe

But I've tried it with RPC_Emu running RO 5.27 and it works with Aemulor loaded.

Do you have a copy of aemulor ?

You can get a copy for Iyonix here if not :

I don't really know as I've never used it.

I've had a play and it looks like that is right. The dictionary / vocabulary archives just contain the one file. Which can be used with RISC OS or Windows.

But to make it work with RISC OS you need the accompanying ES files as well. I suspect these are probably no longer available...

I have found mention of David O Shea elsewhere on stardot. But the website links all timeout, so I've no idea if he's still about in the RO scene
