Not that interested in RiscOS stuff, but I seem to remember Arcadian saying there was a reasonable 8 bit presence last year so may try to put in an appearance.

Cheers.

I'd like to go... not certain I'd be allowed out though!

But what's this on the website regarding the charity stall: they don't accept anything older than a RiscPC, and "no obsolete hardware items" Really? That was what I was hoping to buy!

Whatever you do, don't suggest that the RiscPC is obsolete!

Last year the stall had loads of obsolete items - Cub monitors, dot-matrix printers, DD floppies and some A3000 software at least.

Apart from the excellent 8-bit stalls, that was my major port of call. TBH I found the RISCOS section rather lacklustre. Even CJE only had current RISCOS stuff. :(

I've never been able to go to the Wakefield shows before, as it's always been tricky to get there as I'm down in Sussex, but this time I'm going for it! :D

Will there be time or space to set up a beeb diagnostics / repair station this year?

I think it would be a great idea for one or more of our hardware gurus to take a couple of step-by-step sessions in repair.
(My personal beeb repair time is approximately zero at the moment).

I could fetch some non-booters or booters-with-problems.

I could do another giveaway if we can figure out the best way to pick a winner.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

If we get one going, I will give it away.
If we get 3 going, I will give 2 away, the 3rd being sold at a later date by me to recover some of the costs incurred in giving the other 2 away.

*the winner may have to pay the repairer for the spares involved??*

Now, how to pick a winner??

Raffle?
Best speech?
Random number again?
Fight? :D

If Wakey's anything like I remember it used to be the fight option may be the most applicable

Not doing well with these meets. The last one (London) was on my wedding day, this one is the wife's birthday...

And I doubt I'll convince her on the offer of a day out in Wakefield.

I was nearly not going to be able to make, as my friend's stag do was going to clash with it. However he's moved the date so now I can go. So I'll be hanging out at the 8bit end of the room again.

Will the domesday repair table be there again ?

I hope to bring as much test gear as possible so I
don't see why we can't have a go at a number of
things.

If Beebmaster comes along I'll hopefully be putting
a fixed the motor board back into his unit.

Actually, I was wearing my slippers all day! I forgot to change my shoes after breakfast in all the excitement!

I'll be there again this year, the organisers have just asked me if I'm having a table again but I've not decided yet.

I've no idea what I'd put on display if I did.

@Beebmaster If you grab a table, and Jason fetches all the test equipment, then all we need is a generous spares bin and a guru or 2 willing to try a repair or 3 whilst being watched and I reckon we'll be the highlight of the show. :D

I'm going to a wedding evening reception on that day but it's only a 2 hour drive so as long as I leave by 4.30 I should be ok. I think I'll be there too! :D

We were quite pushed for space last year so I'm going to book a table as I did last year anyway.

If someone has a spare corner of a table (again) - I'd be willing to help with any costs involved?
