Just worth noting, if anyone who's not been before was thinking of bringing kit along to play with (rather than for fittings etc), there really isn't space to set anything up if you don't already have a table. It's not an abug where it's a complete tinkerfest free-for-all - whilst some tinkering does go on it's really a show format, so people have stands and stuff on those stands. There should be plenty for people to play with though!

I should be able to make it this year, just as a visitor [1] Might have to challenge Sydney to Starship Command again :)

Well I was going to work an extra shift this evening since I'm missing Saturday but now I may have to spend a few hours on Starship Command.

Can I just check whether there's any requirement for me to bring the kryoflux? I'd rather not bring superfluous items!

I have already packed my Kryoflux so people could use that if they want, relieving you of the need to bring yours. (He says hoping that someone will show him how to use it.  )

Anyone want me to bring the X68000 along for a play with? It's no bother to stick it in the boot. It's got an OSSC so it can connect to any monitor / tv that's there.

I don't think there will be room to set it up. Everyone with a table will have their stuff on the table.

Lovely to meet you Andrew :) - glad you enjoyed yourself and managed to find everyone :D

Seemed a little quieter this year than some previous, but lots of fun in the 8-bit/Retro section as ever. Really good to see everyone!

It was great to meet new people yesterday and to see some familiar faces again.

Even though the show seemed quieter than previous years (possibly due to the bad weather), it was really good to catch up with people. Made the 7 hour round trip worth it :D

Thanks to Daniel for helping to socket some ULAs - with Daniel doing the desoldering and me doing the soldering, it took no time at all!

I had a great time as usual.
There are usually a few kids there who have a go on the games and end up getting their dads to have a go too but there was only 1 that I saw yesterday so my stand was pretty quiet. Not that I mind as that means there was more time for talking to people.
I did get an absolute bargain - check out the today I received thread to see what it was!

Well I have to say, I really can't thank "danielj" enough for bringing life back to my A5000.

Had a blast meeting and greeting everyone, lot's of folks where asking if I was selling my books, and the crates I stored in the back corner got more attention than what I had on the front stall :-)

Thanks to "sydney" for inviting me down (And providing transport) and I think, I'm most likely going to come down and help again in future.

I did get some photos of our stands, but I've been busy testing hdd's, podules and mice substitutes on my A5000 so I've not got them down off the camera yet, I will do in the next few days and upload them here.

It was a great day, and I thoroughly enjoyed going away for a computer related thing that I wanted to do, rather than for business etc, it was great to just be a regular geek again.
Been around I.T. since the Beeb was born, maybe you've seen me around :D

Gutted to miss this, don't think I've missed one in the last 20 years but had a good excuse...

Leo Franklin Barriball was born 27th April at 2.16am so I was told that I had to attend that event instead :)

Congrats to you all.

Beware because when you have one you always manage to get more. Just like BBCs.

Just before the public were admitted to the show I added another peripheral to my Master then switched back on. Silence. No beep, nothing. :(

Luckily I had a spare but it was a faff changing everything.

One of the first jobs after unpacking my gear was to look at the machine. PSU completely dead; nothing coming out of it at all. Checked the internal mains fuse and that was open circuit. This has happened before so I have a stock of the 1.6A 20mm fuses. Replaced the fuse and all is now well with the universe. :D

Glad it was a quick fix.

and the work going into making them is nothing like the work of maintaining them.

Best of luck and congratulations!!!
