Education Archive Lists

Yeah. I'm just looking at a box of about 30 educational titles that need archiving ...

Most of these have some devious copy protection, which is where the fun lies. That is if the disks still work after all these years. :?

It is strange, though, that nearly all the software houses producing material for the Beeb did not archive their titles even the big companies like Longman-Logotron. Schools have long-since thrown out all their BBC stuff so the only source I have found is from retiring teachers who have kept personal collections 'up in the attic'.

It will not be long now before retiring teachers will be too young to have used BBCs in schools.

At some point in the future it may be possible to revisit whether the archived materials can be shared and that will only be possible if they were preserved in the first place.
I found the loose disk last year, and successfully imaged it (there was no protection) and even uploaded it - here viewtopic.php?f=32&t=12256&p=155905 , before realising that it was discouraged!
Unfortunately, don't have any documentation for it :(

I recognise the yellow boxes with Alligator Mix and Dragon Mix - I've got those and the remaining titles of Alien Addition, Minus Mission, Meteor Multiplication and Demolition Divison.
Also have Caesar's Travels and Osprey too. If it''s a Sherston title under Osprey, it's likely I've got that as well :)
All FSD'd OK, sometime in the past few years!

I've just updated the list of everything I've imaged, so if there's anything that is MIA, i'll attempt to upload it sometime.

edit: found old thread but before uploads, so will upload it when I zip it up on lappy, as mobile phone won't!

edit2: found & also Childrey from space : in link above...

Yes I have the Osprey tape, thanks. I just thought I'd crack the protection on the disc so it will work over my network and on that filing system you don't like.

Here is a list of the Educational Software I have for the BBC, it’s all bundled onto DSD discs.
Let me know if anyone is interested in any of it, or wants extra info on any of the software programs.

That is quite a list. =D>

Be aware, though, that Granny's Garden is still copyright and cannot be freely distributed. 4Mation still enforces their copyright on their titles.

Lots of those title, however, seem to be Anita Straker titles or titles from the Micro Primer series and their copyright is not enforced. In fact BITD they were distributed freely to schools.
