Bitcoin mining on the Beeb

Post by dangardner » Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:12 am

After seeing https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/201 ... e-bitcoin/, I started wondering whether anybody had done something similar for the Beeb. I didn't find anything specifically for the Beeb, but I did find http://retrominer.com for the NES, which looks like it might be an interesting cc65 starting point. Is anybody aware of any SHA256 implementations in native 6502 assembler?

Not directly relevant, but yours truly wrote a miner for the Mattel Intellivision in BASIC. It came a glorious last in the 2018 IntyBASIC competition.

A video of it running can be found here.
