In that case I would really like it pls.
Could you tell me how much you would like for it and shipping to South Wales.

I visited my ex. partner, Dave Prosser, last Saturday. Things we discussed:
(1) Any more bits and bobs laying around.
(2) Dave Holden (APDL).
(3) Microdigital's Omega.

Dave is going to look for the source code for the 32bit version of the IDE card (Blitz). He's confidant that it's still on one of his hard drives (he has had one go-down, however, he has back-ups on floppies !). He did hand over a pile of Floppies. Two of them look promising - I believe one contains the design files for the Blitz board itself!

Microdigital's Omega
He is also certain that he still has all the design files for this too. and is willing to make them available, once he has time to find them and pass them on.

So, all in all a good visit. He has a young family so priorities are geared towards them . . . But, it all looks good.

Regarding the above Technical manuals . . . I believe they are all available as PDFs so, for the price of post . . . First come first served - pm me, on the understanding that when you receive them you will become the de facto technical authority

They should all be online, as you say, but it is definitely worth checking the RiscPC TRM, just in case it is a later version than the one available online.

There were 3 (I think) versions of the RPC motherboard, but only the first is covered in the TRM online - the original RiscPC 600 with 8-bit sound on the motherboard.

If your TRM has any later drawings, this would be a real find. (although somehow I doubt there was a later TRM...)

EDIT: Having looked closely at your image it says "September 1994" which matches the online version. Could you take a look at the circuit diagrams at the back and if there's only one set, then it's probably the same content as the online TRM.

I would be interested in the A540 TRM - have sent you a PM. Possibly the A5000 TRM too, but I mustn't be greedy.

Thanks Dave, yes those are the same PCB listings as the RiscPC TRM drawings (available here). So the RiscPC TRM is the same as the online version.

However, I have now looked throughout my links, and I cannot find the A5000 TRM available online at all. Only the Module Level Service Manual and technical drawings.

Chris's Acorns doesn't have it, and neither does Drobe.

This could be a really interesting TRM find and it would be great to make it available online. I'd be happy to scan and make available, if needed. I'll drop you a PM...

God I remember HCCS! Never actually been into the shop they had but my first copy of "6502 Assembly Language Programming" came from there when I was as school (courtesy of Redwell Comp. which bought it for me) - back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth

South Shields Marine & Tech College also bought most of their Vector Graphic CP/M machines (which I used after leaving Redwell) from HCCS....

Thanks to Dave for sending me the developer discs and docs, I'll be putting them online properly soon

In the mean time I've managed to get the rather odd "New Desk" working in arculator. It was a stepping stone between RISC OS 3.1 and 3.5 (and has sometimes been called RISC OS 3.22).

One odd thing that never survived to make it into 3.5 is a font (on the desktop screenshot) called Darwin, that is a variable width bitmap font that the docs say is designed for TV res modes, it doesn't look great, but it's still better than System :) 3.5 went for Homerton.Medium as the default that also works in this release.

My scans of the A5000 Technical Reference Manual are now available online :)

I've scanned everything apart from the PCB diagrams because these are already available online at Chris's Acorns. They're scanned as 600dpi images in a PDF, so high quality, but it makes for a very large file size (61 mb). I would like to OCR the TRM eventually, just need to find the time... When I do, I will post the OCR'd version up. :)

New scans of A5000 TRM (warning 61mb file!): here
A5000 PCB drawings (.zip from Chris's Acorns at computing history): here
