Baildon Electronics - Last clear-Out

Post by daveejhitchins » Mon Mar 31, 2014 10:28 pm

The shop we had in Saltaire, Titus Street, is finally up for auction. I was invited down to 'recover' anything that was left. So, I've started this thread to list the items recovered. Not much time now, however, I'll start with some photos of my car. I also managed to fill the boot of my Granddaughter's car so I could collect it all next weekend when she's up this way.

Is this for distribution to members?

If so, that A3000 could have a nice home with me ;-)

Gosh, people sure do move quickly if they want something on this forum!

I'm sure Marcus will also be willing to take a small souvenir away with him. ;)

There's a 400/1 series machine too that seems to be missing its case top at the bottom of one of those piles. I'd be interested in that too....

Most things will be up-for-grabs . . . But, not all! I'll be asking for contributions, for some items (marked with a *), so that I can afford further projects.
I have 3 Monitors that need to go - free (list later). And, one of these - AKA31 SCSI interface* (originally from my A540): Taken -Steve3000:
NEW BATCH1.jpg
This, with sides and top missing (probably keep):
NEW BATCH2.jpg
Concept keyboard in its box*:
NEW BATCH3.jpg
New poly foam packing for Acorn/P.R.E.S. Plus 1s x 6:
NEW BATCH4.jpg
One of the monitors:
NEW BATCH5.jpg
This will need to go to a VERY good home! As it will need lots and lots of TLC. I'm NOT going to turn it on as it will need to be taken apart and cleaned throughly first - But a great piece of history* (if you don't recognise it it's a HP64000 series Logic Station with Logic probe (8 way) and Z80 module plus 2 x EPROM modules):

More this evening - Dave H :D

In fact, I bought some stuff (C64, Spectrums) off of some dealers/friends already that I need to pick up at Blackpool, so, yes, I'll take some 'souvenirs' back with me to Brazil. :D

I would have that Acorn monitor if I had the chance. My plans to get to UK this year had to be delayed when I lost my job. Such a shame.

Hi Dave,

I'd be happy to give a good home to a monitor and the plotter. Could pick up from Wakefield if that would work for you or happy to pay postage.

Cheers,

Rob

Happy to pick them up at Wakefield if that's OK with you :D

Well thanks for that.
Be sure it'll be used.
I ask my English friend if he's OK to get them for me, and store them until we meet (easier for you to post to the UK) so please allow a few days for his answer ...
He's on *. so he'll certainly read this thread if not done already

Have you got a Paypal account so that I pay you conveniently ?

On behalf of Steve3000 as I know he could be happy to get it for his Iyonix, I hereby put an option on the Acorn SCI card (yes it can work on the Iyonix, in case you didn't know, thanks to the podule adpator and a new Eprom you can buy here :
https://www.riscosopen.org/content/sales/scsi-rom
Hey ! That's free advertising for ROOL and they deserve it, don't they ? =D> )

Thanks,
Xavier.

And thanks Z for spotting that and claiming it on my behalf.

As for getting hold of this - I'm not sure I'll be at the Wakefield show, as it's on the wife's birthday (and our 6 month wedding aniversary!)... Will send you a PM.

Yes, still available . . . (I'm editing the list and adding 'Taken' when someone has said they would like said item) I believe there is a cable - I'll check and get back to you.

A few more. I've also recovered the stash that my Granddaughter 'stored' in her boot for me. I'll take some images later, however, here's a list of what I can remember:
(1) Some Acorn drawings (I'll take them to Wakefield with me).
(2) A CC Laser printer
(3) A 'large' monitor
(4) A number (5>7 Not sure yet) of New Plus One cases (they're without 'flaps'
(5) A number of 2x PCB layout Negatives (to be reviewed)

And more, I thing

Podules sockets... interesting for some future projects ...
How many have you got ?

(I've got a stock of RAM sockets already to, who knows, one day, build some memory expansion boards. But if nbdy wants them I could increase my stock :D )

I'm not really angling for a Plus 1 case myself, but looking at the pictures, now seems like a good time to get the dimensions of everything written up and sketched out in a CAD model for posterity.
