Monitor suggestions for an A7000+

Post by johnha » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:40 pm

Hi All,

Having bought an A7000+ I'm now looking for suggestions for a suitable monitor and I'm torn between a modern LCD Vs original Acorn monitor (and also TVs that might be suitable through VGA - My beebs need a SCART too).

As I'm not that familiar with the A7000+'s requirements (I understand there are some limitations with my A310 - but my TV works with that). I've tried the SD TV with the A7000+ but get an 'out of range' error from the TV (I've tried blind-typing to set mode 15 but it didn't work).

Any suggestions or considerations?

You can get TV resolution modes out of an A7000+, however the machine was shipped with a normal SVGA monitor and it's probably best to stick with something like that.

If you want the TV res modes you need to pick a suitable monitor type in !Boot - *configure monitortype doesn't work on the newer machines.

Try setting the sync to 0
And monitor type to 3
I think I used Mode 21

That works fine on LCD monitor and LCD TV with my RiscPC.

Guide at the bottem of this link- ... ewold.html
