Installing SmallyMouse2 internally onto an A3000

Hi got an smallymouse2 from ebay into an external case, but plugin it on the acorn a3000 is not good the connector don't seem to fit correctly all the way and moving it will get it unplug easy.

I was thinking it could be cool to install it internally inside the A3000, i see there's an "alt mouse" connector. And that the smally mouse can be soldered a row of pins to just use DuPont wires for easy plug into the motherboard.

Someone knows if is possible to plug the smally mouse there ?, and what is the pinout for this connector ?.

I don't have it to hand, but the A3000 schematics are on the Chris's acorns website, and the smally mouse ones on Simon's (waitingforFriday). The cable should fit well, if it's not long enough you could build a new one using a mega drive rgb minidin cable?

Note that it doesn't have a +5V supply pin, so you would need to obtain a supply from somewhere else.

Works like charm , lucky the Acorn engineers got that internal alt-mouse port, it could be interesting to know why the do so.

Testing probably... There's also the "Alt Keyboard" port (although you can't use the alt mouse with the alt keyboard)

Glad you've got it working, the wireless mouse is a great convenience upgrade!

I super easy grab +5 from the cap "yellow wire" on the pictures.
The rest of the pins follow the pinout in the schematic, the smallymouse have etched on the pcb what the pins are.
Just connect the same pins following the text on the smally mouse and the schematic.
