Using an IDE to SATA convertor

Post by TimoHartong » Tue Sep 10, 2019 9:53 am

Some time ago I wrote an article in the * Asterisk, the electronic magazine from the Big Ben Club in the Netherlands. This article was about using an IDE to SATA converter to be used in older Acorn 32 bit machines. I did found that Compact Flash doesn't work ( most of the time ) which also can be read on this forum. So I used IDE to SATA which I could get to work. Also thanks to this forum. Unfortunately, I had to modify the software and now I have put it on the internet :

( Sorry for the delay )

What did you need to change in Hform?

Compact Flash will work, provided you're using the patched ADFS 2.68

From the testing I did, no software changes are required for SATA, but you might need a hardware fix to -IOCS16 to force the transfer mode. It's all covered in the ADFS 2.68 patch thread.
