I have an Atomwide Risc PC 8 Slot Backplane with a set of metal case fixings (long!)

Post by daveejhitchins » Wed Jul 17, 2019 7:05 pm

As the title says I have an Atomwide 8 slot backplane for a Risc PC along with a set of the metal case fixing rods (do they have a name?). I don't think it's ever been used!

If anyone is interested I can take some photos and post here. If not - eBay it is.

I'm sort of interested. I have three RiscPCs and the thought of cannibalising the broken ones to make a franken-RPC has occasionally occured to me... Although I must admit I'm not sure I have enough podules to do it justice! :)

Ohhhh, I am very interested if you would be willing to ship to Germany.

I have enough slices AND enough podules to do it justice. ViewFinder, probably more SCSI podules than anybody else, the Castle 100 MBit Ethernet podule, Simtec IDE, Eagle M2, Castle USB, Simtec USB, ACE Midi-Connect, Atomwide Triple Serial, TSP Dual Serial...you see, it would be fully loaded :-)

Thanks for considering

Sounds like you're planning to rebuild the Rocketship!

(Don't forget the pizza oven and the sink! :D )

I must apologise to everyone who's read this thread and thought the Items were a giveaway!

Perhaps one of the moderators could move the thread to "for sale / freebies"

The backplane and 4 slice metal fixing pins came with an eBay Risc PC purchase. Although I bought at a good price it was still a considerable layout and I'd like to recover some of the investment. The Plextor SCSI PlexWriter and Sound Byte Recorder were also part of the purchase.

The package is still available but I have no idea of what to ask for these. I do know there are some risks with the backplane (according to some comments elsewhere), however, I also know there aren't many of these about!

I'm interested in the backplane, what sort of price are you looking at Dave?
I've got a bunch of slices that I'm building into a rocket ship (when I have the time) so can always use a large backplane to take the number of cards that I want to attach to it.
Acorn... lots of Acorn... http://blog.retroacorn.net

Hi, Stephen . . .

I'm away on yet another caravan holiday tomorrow (Car Fest North) but will be back next Wednesday. I'll contact you then, if that's OK. Will you need the long pins (suitable for a 4 slice!)?
