Greetings from Hampshire, UK

Post by banedon88 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 11:57 am

Hi guys!

Just thought I'd drop you all a line to say hi :).

I used to own a B+ 64K when I was teenager for which I swapped my Atari-ST 520FM. My parents were NOT impressed - until they saw me using the B+ more than I ever did with the ST. They then forgave me (after about a year) lol.
Unfortunately, it went faulty about 10 years ago and I got rid of it (didn't have any electronics diag skills at all at the time). However, I managed to get a model B on eBay recently and then two more. One didn't work at all - still looking at it - and one which has turned out to be a B+ 64K! . Rare as rocking horse brownstuff it seems (at least going by eBay searches)!

I'm currently buying as much retro Acorn stuff as I can and for the bits which don't work, repairing it. Nothing too technical, but all incredible fun!

Anyhoo, I'm just getting back into the the whole retro groove (got a couple of Electrons and some non-Acorn machines : Atari ST, Amiga 500, Spectrum+).

Nice to digitally meet you all :)

Mike

Greetings Mike

Nice to hear of another BBC Micro enthusiast from Hampshire.

I'm in Purbrook, just outside of Portsmouth.
Just remember kids, Beeb spelled backwards is Beeb!
