Hello from IanB

Post by IanB » Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:07 pm

Hello everyone,

I was a very active commercial developer for the BBC micro / Master 128 back in the day and wrote various programs including the game "Ski Slalom" and several ROMs including Watford Electronics "Quest Paint" and most of "Wapping Editor".

I also wrote some specialist paint and animation programs for use with the Prisma add-on graphics adaptor which were aimed at the TV production market. (The Prisma was a board with a dedicated graphics processor and hardware overlay/sprite functionality that plugged into the 1Mhz bus and had its own 768*576 video output with 256 colours).
Quest Paint was actually a cut down version of the paint program I did for the Prisma.

The above paint & animation programs were used to create a "video game" in a Paul McCartney music video which is on youtube (Search for "ou est le soleil")

I also designed several hardware addons including the RH electronics video digitiser and have just begun the rather daunting task of trying to read/recover all my old BBC floppies and hard drives.
