Hello All,

A relative of mine found a BBC Micro B lying around. Thought I would give a go at using it once I have replaced the relevant capacitors.

Any recommendations for what to use it for?

Thanks,

Tom

What are your interests? Which other retro computers have you used and what did you do with them? There are a lot of things you can do with a beeb!

Welcome,
they are good for driving simple electronic devices, either via the user port (5v) or the new I2C analogue port passthrough adapter.
They also play games bbcmicro.co.uk

Try to exchange it for an Atom (*)

Enjoy your visits to this great forum!

(*) Just kidding, the Beeb is a great microcomputer. I always admired the way it has been designed; both hardware and software. It's just that the Atom is more attractive for me - simply because I could not afford a Beeb bitd. And now I can't abandon my Atoms anymore, I'm addicted to them

I have finally got back to looking at the bbc micro, put it back together again but it seems to beep incessantly and a blank screen displayed via the RGB video out when powered up...
