Hello - at long last

Post by amgard » Wed Feb 20, 2019 11:53 am

I've been lurking here on and off for about 8 years, and have at last dug out my BEEB so thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I've had a Model B since it came out and got into music with it, adding the Hybrid M5000/M3000 (and, at one time the M4000).
I used to make a nuisance of myself at the BEEB shows, meeting a few from DCT and also Chris Jordan (from Hybrid) and was a long-time member of Amplinex.
I got an AMPLE utility published in A&B Computing that allowed a pre-programmed chain of music programs to be entered, a bit like the early CD Players, it was called "Jukebox" - spent hours thinking that one up ;-)

Anyway, to bring the story up to date, I was fully intent on selling my entire Beeb kit once I extricated it from the loft (where it's been for 25yrs) and tested it, BUT once I got it all up and running, I fell in love with it all over again!

I still have some way to go to get it set up again, but no doubt I will be looking for help and advice, as I seem to have burnt out some of the necessary brain cells in the last 1/4 century.

Welcome, they are very endeering machines and I can't imagine not having mine around after 35 years together.
To all lurkers, don't be afraid to join, I'm pretty sure we won't sell your details or bombard you with spaam :)
