Hello from Lancs, UK

Post by ChadsArcade » Sun Sep 09, 2018 4:09 pm

Hello all,

I've been lurking here for a while so thought it was about time I signed up and said hello.

The BBC micro, along with the CBM PET and ZX81 was my first introduction to computers way back in school. I was more of as Speccy user back in the day but used to play with and program whatever I could get my hands on. Sadly the BBC was out of my price range.

I moved on to collecting Arcade machines but have recently found myself hankering for the systems of the old days. I still have a Spectrum, a few Amigas and I remembered I'd been given a couple of Beebs which were going to be thrown out by a local college. They've been sat in the attic for 15years or so. Time to dust them off!

I've a BBC Master and a couple of Model B's, one of which is sadly dead which I'll post about later. I've burned myself an MMFS ROM and wired up an SD card and am enjoying playing some of the games I remember from so long ago. Having a few Pi Zeros knocking about I thought I'd try the Pi-Tube for the Master too, now I can play Tube Elite :)

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning more about the Beebs in general.

Thanks everyone,

Chad

Thanks for the warm welcome :) I'm enjoying my journey with the Beeb so far, nice to see such an active forum and continued development for the system.

Welcome, and being one of those developing for the beeb, it is good when new people join as it makes it feel like a growing audience.

Oi Oi Guddler! Nice to see a familiar face :) I seem to be spending a lot less time on arcade stuff and more on 8bit computers in recent times so will hopefully be spending a bit of time here :)
