Lapsed Acorn user

Post by markb139 » Tue Jul 31, 2018 12:17 pm

Hi All,

Recently got interested (again) in Acorn computers and started playing with RPCEmu. The tool and available info and sw has come on leaps and bounds since the last time I looked.

Back in the 80's I owned an Electron, BBC and an Archimedes A310. For a while I worked part time at one of the Acorn sevice centres and fixed much Acorn kit - the only Beeb we couldn't fix had had it's Telext adapter take a lightning strike.

My Interest was really peaked when I came accross the Acorn C/C++ rel 5. To re-learn some RiscOS programming, I'm attempting to write a verion of Forth.

It's very tempting to buy a real machine.

Cheers
Mark

I wonder if my Electron still exists. I lent it to a friend who was addicted to Twin Kingdom valley about 30 years ago

Welcome. While a few people stay emulator only, most end up with some real hardware. Even if they write on an emulator and do final testing on real hardware.
