Hi ya.

Post by 6502 » Sat Mar 17, 2018 6:55 pm

Still remember the day my father brought a BBC Micro B. I was about 5 years old, about 1983ish. Been passionate about computers ever since.
Remember typing in games from the magazines. Can't do touch typing, but was the fastest typer when in secondary school.
Our BBC kept crashing at irregular intervals. You gave it a bang and it was okay again for a while. Very annoying when you spent 10 minutes loading a game and the machine crashed. Never found that fault.
See ya around.

Ours did too; presumed it was something in the PSU or a loose connection; a tap at the back left and it would spring into life again.

Welcome!

Maybe it was a common problem with the machine. Sadly it got thrown out years ago. Wish my father had kept it now.

Imagine playing Repton 2 for hours and you're just about to run the meteor gauntlet to collect the finish character and it crashes.

Imagine the anger....

(By the way that didn't actually happen. I got nowhere near completing it.)
