hello from Leuchars

Post by mr-macrisc » Wed Feb 07, 2018 10:00 pm

We'll what can i say.

First computer was a zx81 with 16k pack gifted to family...
Next was an Acorn Electron for my christmas
BBC Model b for a while (borrowed from Grandad's work as was no longer used to control machine it was bought for... Had forth rom in It iirc for controlling the machine.

Had a c64 for a while but didn't really have as much fun with it. The BBC, a540, a3000, a5000 and towards end RPC were where it was at for me.

About 15yr ago i got an RPC and built it up to a good spec but some changes in life stopped that about 7yr ago.

Had a number of jobs but main one for computer interest was a Business/MI Analyst for a bank. Self taught SAS/SQL Programmer for that job and worked up to possition only graduates usually would get.

Recently got back into music after a 24yr break and been having great fun with that. My wee lad is severely autistic so i care for him full time but for a wee escape i am getting rpc on go again (well replacing it as some idiot dumped mine). Will hook up to midi stage piano but also want to enjoy some retro gaming too.

Hopefully find something soon and be having fun.. May also go RPi route to build a portable unit as a fun project

Welcome from a fellow Electron user! :D

And from someone who knows where Leuchars is without looking on a map! ;)

Anyone ever notice the game SIM was knackered kinda....

Acoen electron i tried for months and could never get past the 3 moving fours. Tried it on BBC b when it came home and got past them. Got a feeling something was different in timing as electron ran it slower and they got ot wrong....

Welcome. :D

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?
