Hi from Hornchurch, 35 years ago.

Post by ultrasteve » Tue Jan 30, 2018 8:28 am

Hi all.

I was born and brought up in Hornchurch, Essex. I was the generation that saw Beebs introduced into our infants school, quickly developed a love for it, and my parents bought my older brother one (a B). That was me hooked. Unfortunately, he sold it to buy an Atari ST, and until 2 years ago I'd not used one since (beyond emulators).

I was a big fan of Micro Power games, and have set up a Facebook group for collectors of that publisher if anyone would like to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1689222801095010/

This post ISN'T intended just to boost membership for that. I'm genuinely saying hello, and looking forward to posting when time allows. I'm especially interested in helping to expand the archive if I can, and learn some of the skills I've forgotten over the years.

I've currently got a re-capped B, with a TurboMMC fitted, and a stock Electron.

Well, it just has :D Although I'm not a games player - due to being completely 'kack' handed, I did have lots of contact with Micro Power BITD - lived in Bradford, about 9 miles away, so easy access.

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?
