Greetings from a lurker...

Post by stevebubs » Sat Dec 09, 2017 7:18 pm

First had an Atom as a kid, quickly followed by a Model A that my parents upgraded to a Model B, then an A420/1 followed by a RPC. Many many hours spent playing Elite, Chocks Away etc alongside learning 6502 & ARM Assembler.

Still have them all except the Atom that was passed to one of their friends in the dim and distant past. Currently keeping my eye out for another at a reasonable price.

Finally have a space where I can slowly dig them out of the loft, bring them back to life, and starting to get my kids interested in the older generation of computers without having to go through the turmoil of digging them out, recabling and then putting them away again each time.

BBC B has been recently upgraded with a Datacentre and complemented with an Electron & Master; the A420/1 now has a 410/1 and 440/1 alongside it, along with an A310, a model I spent many hours on in the school computer room and an original A440.

The comment that made me laugh most recently was for 'Hopper' ... 'Oh... it's just like Crossy Road'

Welcome, Steve. :D

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?
