Hello World

Post by SkaterMark »

Hi, I'm Mark

My first computer was an Acorn Electron many years ago. Used a Beeb at school and that lead me into a career in software development.

During covid lockdown I got my old Electron out, fixed a couple of issues then got interested in how the hardware worked so built and added to the Ben Eater 6502 project.

I ended up getting a BBC Micro B from ebay, and having recapped the power supply I'm starting to try and learn how to upgrade it.

I've also been working on old Psion 3a devices, doing RAM upgrades, and upgrading the Flash memory cards from 128kb to 512kb.

When not messing with old tech I spend my free time figure skating or trying to introduce my 6 & 8 year olds to 8 bit computers. 6 Year old loves Rig Attach on the Electron :-)

Welcome! :D

Rig Attack is a nice easy game to get the kids started with. It's not too challenging or action-packed, and it will certainly teach them how to be patient! :)

Unlikely to be the only one 🙂 I know of another figure skater and Beeb fan. Not sure if she's active on here though
