Hello from Japan

Post by Tomkun »

Hi everyone,

Thank you for letting me into your community.

I grew up in the UK and my first computer was an Acorn Electron. I have many fond memories of playing Starship Command and of my Father and Grandfather getting frustrated at Sphinx Adventure. We also had a BBC micro at my primary school and I loved playing Suburban Fox and programming the Turtle to draw pictures on huge sheets of paper on the floor.

My father still has the old Acorn in a box in the loft, but as I am half-way around the world, I want to try to recreate the memories using emulation at least until I can get back home!

Welcome to the Forum, Tom . . . Enjoy . . .

Hope you manage to 'recover' your Electron soon!

Hello Tom and welcome on board.

(shamelessly catching the wave) How is the used acorn market on the land of rising sun? I have read you could buy MSX for peanuts (at least so it was a few years ago), what instead about Acorns?
