Hi from BeebControl and Riscy Robots

Post by riscyrobot » Tue Jun 30, 2020 5:21 pm

Hi folks.

Maintainer of the BeebControl website here.
Plus the guy behind the Riscy Robots displays at most Risc OS London shows.

I have a few Beebs and Masters I'd like to get beeping, so I'll be picking your respective brains for a while to get over/round a few problems I'm having.

Cheers,
-Riscy.

Bee control: an excellent idea for a website.

Greetings from my little Dutch Atomic Attic, Wim...
Hi Wim.
I bought an ancient Atom a few months back that's been heavily modded and hacked around (not by me).
I haven't had it long but I still haven't plucked up the courage to apply any power - it's so hacked and non-standard I'm afraid it will just blow up if I do

I'm new to Atoms so I might need a bit of help and advice from Atom-meisters such as yourself to get it running without ruining it. I'll post some pics when I get a chance and you can tell me what you think.

Have you seen this project ?

With just a few wires and a rom, a Beeb can harness the power of I2C and, as you will doubtless know, this is quite a popular protocol in the robot and control world. Someone recently loaned me an I2C robot arm that he usually controls with some pretty complex and expensive kit. He was quite impressed to see the humble Beeb competing on level terms and taking the edge in some ways given the power and flexibility of Beeb Basic. He’s now acquired a Beeb and apparently uses it in his robot club presentations :D
