Shheh if he gets £60 for those maybe it's time to sell some of the box of about 30 that I got free from work.....one of the Academics used to have a PCW brought them in about 10 years back and asked if they where any use, having a Spectrum +3, I of course took them off his hands....

Cheers.

Humm £89 for a boxed ZX81, nah, mind he needs the money to by a new keyboard with a working capslock key and a decent spelling checker :)

Odd I don't think any of my ZX81's have an 'EMBLUM' on them !

Cheers.

Not eBay, but this too deserves a mention:

LOL - http://uk.farnell.com/pro-power/nfcg-28 ... t=918-7243

vs

NOTLOL - http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-power/19303- ... p/CBBR6774

A classic example of how these 2 companies, which are actually both Farnell, have ludicrously different prices for exactly the same item.

Indeed, though there is stuff that only CPC carry that Farnell do not, and likewise stuff that Farnell carry but CPC not.

Though for some reason CPC will only deliver to the cardholder's address without an account with them, Farnell will deliver to a different address, though the invoice always goes to the cardholder's address which is fair enough.

This is a pain as I normally have stuff sent to my mother's place as she is in all day, being retired, whereas I'm at work, then when I miss the delevery I have to go and pick the damn thing up from the courier, which is annoying !

Mind my several rolls of ribbon cable I picked up at Ham Radio rallies for a couple of quid each, even some 50 way ones :) :)

Cheers.

A load of mostly copied C64 Tapes :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/250762707330

£99 FFS !

And another : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/110680926803

Dunno how rare that is but £125 seems a little steep to me.....

Cheers.

Hey I've got a ZX81 and a 16k rampack complete with polys and boxes L@@K RARE WOW!

These people are w@nkers.

Still, ZX-80s do go for good money, usually around £100. And the Jupiter Ace also gets good money. But that other stuff (Sinclairs, Dragons etc)? I think not.

There was a Compukit UK101 up recently which I was interested in. I think it went for over £200... but they are properly rare.

Yep I have a couple of 81's too plus an unbuilt kit :) :) even have the fairly uncommon 1K-3K ZX80 rampack....
These people are w@nkers.
Or being more charitable, just not aware of they way ebay works, they check around see what things go for and put them in at the eventual selling price, rather than starting them low to generate interest.....

Well I do have a Dragon Professional prototype (only 5 known to still exist), now that is rare :) But otherwise yeah most of the Commie, Sinclair, Dragon, Acorn stuff is pretty common.

Indeed, I've actually considdered building a clone of this one as it's a pretty straight forward 6502 based system....

Cheers.

Idly browsing the CJE site, I noticed this entry in the price list for a second hand copy of Thundermonk:

http://www.cjemicros.co.uk/micros/indiv ... =MIN-TM-SH

Must be LOLRARE to fetch that kind of asking price.

Hmmm, so let me think 'bout that... so for £2K (~) less, I could have a Ferrari, as opposed to a Ford Escort.... hmmm... touch decision

You've got to hand it to the Escort folks, they've really rolled out the green carpet for this ad....

Well, it's still under the price I sell them for (£24.95), but only just. That's also an earlier version, the new ones now come with a reprint of the manual.

Jeez, you'd think people would research what they're buying #-o I just don't understand the eBay red mist that some people seem to suffer from.

Mind you, what would the import duties to Oz be for a new kit direct from the UK?

Last time I had those listed at £24.95, there was virtually no interest, so what is even more bizzare, is that 3 people who were obviously bidding on that, have contacted me after the sale closed, and were pleasently surprised to be supplied with one for the standard price instead of the LOL1! So I still got some sales from it :D

Problem with ebay is the lack of historical records, so you just can't see what the last one sold for or when. So you have no idea if its a 6 month or 6 year wait for the next one to be listed.

Sadly I managed to loose the bidding war on one item, to the detriment of the entire community. It was a fancy rom board for BBC Master, got high resolution photos of it from the seller but not sure that is enough. Really needed the physical item to trace the circuits.

Anything <$1000 for personal use is duty free, not paid anything on any of the hardware, books, games etc I've gotten.
