Yes box headers...

you can use websites like digikey or rapid electronics in the UK which allow you to browse by category & picture. Once you find the right thing you can see what they name it. The chinese ebay sellers often call things by weird names though so only 1/2 useful tip! With ebay sellers I find one then try searching again with terms the sellers use to see if I can get a better price/quantity...

why , why,why ???

i am thinking of using a diode or something like pcb spacer

drawing : the 0.5 mm end to solder in a hole of the veroboard
the body of a component like diode

the other eind 2 or 2,5 mm for the other board (the problem :) )

length = 12mm

the registor cutting of one end some glue

or the cap two times solderd en glue on top for the other board

it is diy the dutch way  :D

For stripboard or Veroboard, I drill 3mm size holes where I want the mounting points to be. Then use a combination of metric M3 machine screws, M3 washers, M3 nuts and M3 spacers (either unthreaded round types, or hexagonal cross-section threaded types). I find that the nylon PCB stand-offs often don't work very well in stripboard/ Veroboard.

The M3 machine screws, nuts, spacers etc are available in steel, some in brass, and in both natural and black nylon. If it will be exposed to sunlight (or some types of fluorescent light), don't use natural colour nylon parts, as they will go brittle and then break after a couple of years of exposure.

Here is an eBay listing showing abox of various black nylon M3 parts. But shop around, as the price varies. Search for "Nylon M3 Hex Spacers/Screws/Nuts Stand-off Assortment Kit Box Set for PCB".

Outdoors, wearing a mask, because FR-4 dust is harmful to breathe... right?

It's made of FR-2 / SRBP.

I thought drilling any form of fibreglass produced pretty nasty dust?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FR-2 FR-2 is an abbreviation for Flame Resistant 2. It is a NEMA designation for synthetic resin bonded paper.

FR-2 / SRBP Is not made of fibreglass. It is synthetic resin bonded paper. A composite material made of paper impregnated with a plasticized phenol formaldehyde resin. It is brown or light tan in colour. Still not a good idea to breathe in the dust. But then, it's never a good idea to inhale any dust. One of the biggest known causes of lung problems due to dust, is actually stone dust. Workers in industries where there is a lot of stone dust can, if precautions are not taken, end up with terrible problems.

Aside from the matrix boards and custom PCBs made of FR-4 from eBay, that mostly are made in China, normal commercial stripboard (which is the generic name, Veroboard being a manufacturers trade name) is made from FR-2 / SRBP. I buy mine from U.K. electronic parts suppliers.

PCBs can also be made from FR-2 / SRBP if no heavy components are used and the size of the board is not too large (or it is mounted on a suitable frame). PCBs made using FR-2 / SRBP are cheaper.

It is also possible to buy plain (with no copper tracks) sheets (in various thicknesses) of FR-2 / SRBP.

it is a small hole 2 mm veroboard, can't drill anything in it a tracks are used and 3 mm will cut a line.

maby a coil with wire is on the top 2 mm left and small on the other side ? to solder.
